This past season with the Crimson Tide, he averaged 16.1 yards per catch Womens Marcus Epps Jersey , hauling in 44 passes for 710 yards and seven touchdowns. The Vikings’ selection of a tight end is something that we probably expected, but now we’re left to wonder a bit about the status of Kyle Rudolph. Smith is a player that can step in and contribute right away, and he’s the sort of “move/mismatch” tight end that teams in the NFL seem to covet today. We’ll have to see how the Vikings use him. With that pick, the Vikings are next on the clock. . .currently. . .with the 17th pick of the third round, #81 overall.Welcome to Minnesota, Irv Smith, Jr.! Oh, wait. . .CDTShareTweetShareShareIt looks like Nate Kaeding is the Vikings’ new kicking coachOne of the big discussions over the course of this offseason for the Minnesota Vikings has been the potential hiring of a full-time kicking coach. From the reports that are coming in from today’s OTAs at the Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center, the team may have found their man.According to Andrew Krammer of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, former NFL kicker Nate Kaeding was at today’s OTAs, and he’s also reporting that Kaeding’s official capacity with the team is going to be announced soon.Kaeding played in the NFL from 2004 to 2012, and when he retired he was the second-most accurate kicker in NFL history in terms of field goal percentage (86.2%). He spent the bulk of his career with the San Diego Chargers.According to Krammer Danielle Hunter Jersey , Kaeding lives in the area, so it would appear to be an easy transition for him to become a part of the team. In any event, this is significantly more positive for him than the last time he interacted with the Vikings. That would have been the opening kickoff of the 2011 regular season. Not only did Percy Harvin take that kickoff back for a touchdown, but Kaeding tore his ACL covering the play and proceeded to miss the entire season. So, yeah. . .being the kicking coach has got to be better than that, I’d imagine. What are your thoughts on Nate Kaeding (apparently) becoming the Vikings’ new kicking coach?
