REGINA - A football player with the CFL Saskatchewan Roughriders has been ordered to stand trial on a charge of aggravated assault. Taj Smith, a wide receiver with the Riders, was charged after a man was beaten outside Reginas Pure Ultra Lounge last August. Dwight Anderson, a defensive back with the Roughriders, was also charged in the same case. However, after a two-day preliminary hearing held in Regina, a judge ruled there was enough evidence to warrant a trial in Smiths case, but not for Anderson.
