(SportsNetwork.com) - The suddenly-sliding Toronto Maple Leafs will try to enter the Christmas break on a positive note when they visit the Dallas Stars for Tuesdays encounter at American Airlines Center. The Maple Leafs are in the midst of a three-game skid that comes directly on the heels of a six-game winning streak. Toronto also boasted a 10-1-1 record in the 12 games prior to its current 0-3 stretch. Toronto has been outscored by a combined 15-5 margin during the losing streak, and the Leafs have surrendered 11 goals over the last two outings. After getting slammed 7-4 by visiting Philadelphia on Saturday, the Maple Leafs began a seven-game road trip the following night in Chicago and were handed a 4-0 loss. Antti Raanta stopped 31 shots to pick up the shutout for the Blackhawks. James Reimer allowed all four goals on 34 shots for the Maple Leafs, who have matched their longest skid of the season, tying an 0-3 stretch from Nov. 14-18. Toronto hasnt dropped four straight since losing the last four games of the 2013-14 season in regulation. The record we have in the last three games we have to figure out a way to turn it around, Toronto defenseman Dion Phaneuf said. Toronto is just 5-4-3 as the guest this season. The Leafs will try to pick up their first win of the current swing tonight before the road trip resumes Sunday at Florida. The Leafs recorded a 5-3 home win over Dallas on Dec. 2 and are hoping to sweep the season series tonight. However, the Stars are 3-0-1 in their last four home meetings against Toronto and they posted a 7-1 rout of the Leafs when they last visited Big D on Jan. 23 of last season. While Toronto aims for a return to the win column on Tuesday, the Stars will try to enter the Christmas hiatus with a fifth consecutive victory. Dallas stretched its winning streak to a season-high four games thanks to Sundays remarkable comeback victory in Edmonton. The Stars trailed the Oilers 5-2 in the second period before rallying for a 6-5 shootout win. Taylor Halls goal with 6:43 left put the Oilers ahead by a 5-2 score, but Jamie Benn began the comeback for the Stars with a power-play tally in the final minute of the second period. Tyler Seguin would even the score for Dallas in the third. The NHLs leading goal-scorer tallied 52 seconds into the third to cut the deficit to 5-4, then tied it up with his 25th goal of the season at the 9:13 mark. Shawn Horcoff then scored in the eighth round of the shootout to give the Stars the win. Seguin, who is two points behind Philadelphias Jakub Voracek for the scoring lead, also posted an assist. Benn also added an assist, while Horcoff and Erik Cole notched the other regulation goals. I thought the leaders of the team took the bulls by the horns, Stars coach Lindy Ruff said. Anders Lindback stopped 9-of-10 shots to get the win in relief of Kari Lehtonen, who allowed four goals on 19 shots before getting pulled halfway through the second period. The Stars are 6-6-5 as the home team this season. Dallas will emerge from the NHLs Christmas break on Saturday, when it visits the St. Louis Blues. Ivan Rodriguez Jersey . Bilbaos first victory in four rounds lifted it four points clear of Real Sociedad and kept it in command of Spains last Champions League berth for next season. In contrast, Betis was left 11 points from safety after a dismal performance that at times bordered on self-destruction amid some questionable refereeing decisions. Texas Rangers Jerseys . Samir Nasris 88th-minute equalizer at Etihad Stadium will be of little consolation to City, which is now six points behind league leader Liverpool and four points behind second-place Chelsea. Third-place City has a game in hand but the surprise result against Sunderland, coupled with Sundays 3-2 loss at Liverpool, may be a setback too far in its bid for a second championship in three seasons. http://www.officialrangersgearshop.com/R...or-Kids-Jersey/. Those cheers seemed more special this time because the captains run on Broadway could soon be over. The adoration surely sounded much nicer to Callahan than all the recent trade talk. Nomar Mazara Jersey . -- Brandon Hope stopped 46 shots and Kurtis MacDermid scored with 27 seconds remaining in overtime as the Owen Sound Attack edged the visiting Kingston Frontenacs 5-4 on Saturday in Ontario Hockey League action. Prince Fielder Jersey . Brad Malone had the other goal for the Monsters (1-1-0), while Elliott chipped in an assist for a three-point night and the games first star. Bryan Lerg also had two assists. Corban Knight and Max Reinhart scored for the Heat (1-1-0), who opened their season Friday with a 5-2 win over the Monsters in Cleveland.MONTREAL -- The Montreal Impact wasted no time cooling off the hottest team in Major League Soccer. Montreal needed just three minutes to score the winner against a streaking New England club, shutting out the Revolution 2-0 on Saturday night at Saputo Stadium. New England (7-4-2) came to Montreal riding a five-game winning streak, their longest such run in nearly a decade. The team was unbeaten in its last seven contests atop the Eastern Conference standings. But with fans still trickling in to their seats after the opening whistle, midfielder Andres Romero scored the Impacts quickest goal of the season in the third minute to give last-place Montreal (2-6-4) a surprise lead. Romero took a long through ball from striker Marco Di Vaio and moved in all alone on goalkeeper Bobby Shuttleworth. With Revolution defenders requesting an offside call on the play, Romero held onto the ball several seconds before beating the keeper for his career-high third goal of the season. "We came out, we dominated, and we did exactly what we wanted to do," said Jack McInerney, who played up front with Di Vaio in a seldom seen two-striker formation. Montreal followed the early goal with sustained pressure. Its emphasis on the long ball created several goal-scoring opportunities in the first half hour. "We had a stronger start than they did," said defender Wandrille Lefevre. "That made a world of difference. We controlled the ball and it allowed us to ease into the game." Many of the Impacts scoring chances fell to Di Vaio, who couldnt find the back of the net despite taking four shots on target in the first half. Di Vaio came close in the 17th minute when his strike from outside the 18-yard box missed the net by inches. A minute later, Di Vaios volley from close range was stopped by Shuttleworth. In the 26th minute, the Italian striker moved in alone on goal, but tripped and fell. The Impact took eight shots on target in the first half to New Englands one. "You have to credit the other team because they came flying," said Revolution coach Jay Heaps. "In this league, you cant give a team anything. We gave quite a bit to Montreal, and they took it. Montreal did an excellent job of taking advantage of our slow start and they were ready." Frank Klopas men doubled their lead in the 31st minute after an impressive individual effort by newcomer Issey Nakajima-Farran, who made his Saputo Stadium debut after being acquired from Toronto FC twwo weeks ago.dddddddddddd. The left-winger cut into the middle of the pitch and fired a powerful strike at Shuttleworth, who bobbled the ball. McInerney pounced on the rebound from the edge of the six-yard box for his fifth goal against New England in 10 career appearances. Although he wasnt credited with an assist on the goal, Nakajima-Farran was instrumental on the play for the Impact. "It just clicks," said Nakajima-Farran, who played at the club level in Denmark, Australia, and Cyprus before making the move to Major League Soccer. "Everybody is playing simple, and the ball is zipping around. I feel conformable, and the guys know my movement too. Its been a very easy transition." Coming into this one with just one win on the season, seven points from 11 games, and a league-worst goal differential, the Impacts stingy defending settled a hot team that had scored 12 goals in its last three games. The Revolution couldnt generate much offence on Saturday despite controlling the ball for long stretches. Rookie forward Patrick Mullins, who entered the game with a goal in four consecutive contests, an MLS record for a rookie, was limited to just one shot on target. And 19-year-old Diego Fagundez, who scored four times on New Englands winning streak, did not challenge goalie Troy Perkins once. "It wasnt our best stuff," said Heaps, whose Revs still top the Eastern Conference despite the loss. "It was one of those nights where every pass was a little bit off. It didnt have the same zip to it. To break a team down, you have to have things go your way a little bit. You have to credit a team when they do a good job." At the other end of the table, the win keeps Montreal at the bottom of the standings, but the team is now only six points out of a playoff spot. "The first couple of games of the season didnt show the kind of talent we have on this team, and what we can do," said McInerney. "If we want to get back into the picture, we need to be consistent." The Impact now turn their attention to a mid-week battle versus Toronto FC on Wednesday for the second leg of the Amway Canadian Championship final. The winner advances to the CONCACAF Champions League. Notes: The attendance at Saputo Stadium was 18,060. a The Revolution have now been shutout five times this season. a New England lost its first-ever game at Saputo Stadium (2-1-0). a The Impact and Revolution will face off twice more this season.
